First time dad here. My son is 7 weeks old - I find myself trying to interrogate how I respond to things when I’m upset. I’m trying to train myself to respond differently since I know eventually he’ll be picking up on everything. Thank you for sharing this- it was reaffirming and encouraging.
Congrats on being a new dad. It's amazing, isn't it!? The fact that you're thinking like this already is wonderful because you're going to be ahead of the game. I wish I'd gone into parenthood with this mentality. But I'm slowly getting there.
Thank you for taking the time to read the article and for the comment.
They are perceptive from a young age! I learned that the hard way with my two girls that are now teenagers. They remember a lot more than I thought they would back when they were younger and I was drinking! Great reminders here for those with kids!
For me, parenting would be a nightmare if I was still drinking. Hangovers, etc. Urgh!!
But I now have to be careful about other things that he sees, hears, etc. Although I don't drink anymore, I still need to lead by example, be a positive role model and watch my behaviour, words and actions.

Hey Michele, thank you for the comment.
I'm so thankful that my son never saw me drunk.

Yeah, no need to test it. You already know that it would be a nightmare. Take it from me, too. Mine saw me drunk way too many times.
